I started racing in late 1992 on a KR-1S Kawasaki and did a season club racing with a couple of clubs in 1993. In 1994 I went to the British paddock in the Superteen championship. 1995 I changed to an ex James Haydon RGV which I never got on with, partly because the 400's were now coming in to force!
I cut my losses with that and for 1996 I bought a 'steelie' CBR 600 which had won the Bol d'Or 24hr 600 class in late 95. I cut my teeth on the 600 four stroke in the national 'People' newspaper championship in 97 and stepped back up to the British paddock for 1998 in the SS600 class. For 1999 I changed again to the brand new Honda Hornet cup banging handlebars and anything else that stuck out more than a few millimetres with a like minded bunch!
By now with a family on it's way I competed in my last race a couple of days before my Son was born, being pipped to the line by a young newcomer (Richard Cooper) at Donington Park.
22 years later with my son now racing with BEMSEE I took my chance and in 2022 got out on track again, firstly on my latest KR-1S in the Blue Haze GPF and F400. And latterly on a ZXR400 in the F400's. I found the BEMSEE family helpful and friendly and because of this I've completely got the bug again! I'm planning on running both bikes again for 2023.
