My name is Konrad Breese and I have been riding motorcycles since I was 4 years old (so my dad tells me) but only competitively from 2015. My father raced Benelli’s for various clubs and worked in a Cagiva/Ducati dealership when I was a child and in his spare time fabricated chassis from old Garelli’s and Malanca’s to make them low enough so I could ride them around the garden. I would get to know more about the perfect season for growing grass than actual motorcycle maintenance but that’s another story!
I had only done a couple of very timid trackdays up until I decided to start racing and get my license ready for the 2015 racing season with Bemsee. I’d heard a lot about different motorcycle clubs but the geography didn’t matter to me because everyone that had raced competitively had recommended Bemsee. I managed to find an MZ 250 for sale from an elderly gentleman who wanted someone else to use the bike and look after it as he did. I wasn’t sure I was up to the task and I was happy to run around at the back where he had been for several years!
After racing an MZ for a couple of years I bought a completely stock Ninja 300 through Bemsee to help develop my riding and race craft. Step by step I learned to go faster until I started picking up podiums in my 2nd year on the bike. I finished 3rd in the Team Green Senior 300 championship in 2019 and 2020. I finally emulated my father in 2021 by beating his best finish of 2nd place at Brands Hatch by winning my first ever race at the same circuit more than 40 years after him.
I have a degree in Sports Science so I’m comfortable discussing the physical and mental challenges of motorsport as well as coaching certificates in a variety of settings. As a qualified ACU instructor at Bemsee I take great pride in the rider development programme to help junior riders take the next step to race in BSB. As rider rep for the TGJC and Senior 300’s I am more than happy to share my advice and experiences to help improve your riding further. I’m always about in the paddock, or feel free to drop me an email or give me a call.
