Since I was a child, I have always been crazy about bikes. I have fond memories of watching stunt riders at shows and then recreating their skills on a pretend bike in the school play ground. My parents were never keen on me riding them myself so I didn’t get the chance to start riding until I was 9/10 years old when I would secretly have a go on my cousins KX85. That’s when I really got the bug.
From then, the love has grown and grown and I have never been without some kind of bike in my life, from mountain bikes, enduro, road and race bikes.
2019 was my rookie year with Bemsee on a 2003 CBR600RR which I loved so much, I bought another. I will never forget the feeling of lining up on the grid for the first time thinking “what the hell am I doing”. That race lit a spark inside me which has never gone out. Fortunately, this was the first and only season that I managed to fall off on the way to the grid on cold tyres at Cadwell Park, something I endeavour to never do again.
When Covid hit I decided to take a break from riding on the track and helped other riders in the paddock, with 2023 taking me to BSB to help a friend which was an awesome experience.
In 2024 I competed in the MRO/Clubman 600 achieving a couple of podiums and had such a great time with everyone that I volunteered to take on the role of Class Rep.
As much as I love racing bikes, I also love the camaraderie of a race weekend, everyone helping each other to improve and not forgetting have a great time. And that’s what I want to help with, if anyone has any suggestions of how we can improve the class or the club to ensure it remains fun and fair, or any issues that you may be faced with, I will be your point of contact to have your voice heard.
