I have been involved with motorcycle sport since the age of 16. I competed in Trials and Enduro before turning my hand to road racing in 1990. Racing with Bemsee and various other clubs, I have competed in virtually all solo classes, even having a few outings in a sidecar. The highlights of my racing career included winning four club championships, racing at the Manx Grand Prix and riding for BMW during the 2002 season at Moto GP in the Boxer cup series.
I have been involved with the organization of race meetings since 1999, as secretary of the meeting for the MCC club meeting at Silverstone and various roles with Bemsee over the last few years.
I became a director of Bemsee in 2003, and obtained my clerk of the course license in 2004.
This year I felt the need to return to the track and have completed an ACU instructors course, with a number of fellow Bemsee members we will be able to offer a complete training facility in-house, and provide ongoing training to new and existing racing members.
Most of my working life has been spent in the aircraft industry. Until recently when I decided on a career change, and went back to college to do a degree in Garden/landscape design. I now run my own business offering garden design and maintenance.
It would be fair to say motorcycle racing is a huge part of my life and I enjoy being a member of the BMCRC team and being involved in the paddock.
